When should you report a computer violation to Stopit? abuse@gmu.edu

If you suspect an abuse of GMU’s information technology policies and guidelines, including:
  • Threatening or harassing messages
  • Spam ONLY if generated by a Mason USER this means the sender will have an @gmu.edu address or GMU IP address
  • Promotion of a private business when the sender's e-mail address ends in @gmu.edu
  • A law is being broken using Mason information technology resources
  • A Mason Internet Protocol(IP) address has sent you a virus
  • Digital copyright infringements should be reported to the Copyright Office.
  • You have found a Mason website has been defaced
  • or a Mason user has probed your computer.
Please send report to StopIt at: abuse@gmu.edu. If forwarding a message please be sure to include the full headers.

The antivirus web site has virus protection software available for the George Mason community.
